10. WIN CE - PMIC Driver Development for WinCE/WinMobile

A UK customer developed an Audio and Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC). The PMIC is a complete and highly integrated baseband solution. It provides all power management and audio functions for advanced cellular handset designs.

Challenge
The customer needed the PMIC driver IOCTL functions redesigned according to the hardware platform features. We needed to integrate the driver into the BSP for a specific smartphone hardware platform and provide the test programs and related development API specifications for our customer.

The PMIC driver needed to provide APIs for other device drivers in the system and monitor the status of PMIC and battery. It should notify the related applications and drivers if the status changes.

They studied the PMIC data sheet and designed a complete power-management architecture under WinCE. We completed the driver developments and testing including I2C, I2S, PMIC, etc. for the customer.
