1. JAVA - Total Push-Mail Mobile Case Studies (Project & Offshore Development Center Based)

Customer
A start-up company founded by a group of successful entrepreneurs wanted to provide simple push-mail service to the USA market. The product is targeted for market entry in 2008. The product has the two main components of a server, and the other being the client. The Server software is based on JAVA J2EE. The Client software was based on "C" programming.

Challenge
The need for the project to be completed was urgent requiring a compressed development work plan and project schedule. The customer was not in the position to provide finalized requirements. The ArcherMind development team needed to create a clear and disciplined project management driven process to finalize the changing product requirements. ArcherMind engineers understand from their experience, that the critical success factor in providing the best solution would be a good system architecture that would ensure the high performance required to support the millions of planned users.

Service Delivered
The customer initially selected the ArcherMind project-based service model. One of the key project deliverables was to design and develop a new demo for both the Server and the Client product. This was delivered in just three months a head of an already aggressive schedule. At this stage in the project, the customer decided to change to the ArcherMind Virtual Overseas Development Center (VODC) service, putting more of the complete development authority under ArcherMind responsibility.

ArcherMind's processes were used for requirements development, product design, software development, and project management. The Development team chose the Agile model for development to meet the unique need of flexible and weekly development versions. This approach guaranteed that the customer could closely monitor and review the entire process and the product status. This approach also supported the fine tuning of product requirements. In addition, the Feature phone platform Client architecture, data structure, and user interface was designed and programmed in "C". With good teamwork of 20 software engineers and the close working relationship with the customer, the development was delivered on time and to the customer's satisfaction.

The key technologies applied to the project were mature J2EE architecture for server side, Apache for load-balancing, JBOSS for the application server, and My-SQLfor the database. New protocols were designed for communication between the server and the client.
